Where have we been the past four months?

It has been about four months since our last post, that is good and bad. The good thing is, we have been living and so caught up in life that we haven't had much time to come and document the days and weeks.
The bad thing is, there has been so much going on that I would love to share it all, so the kids have this to look back on when they are older.

I am going to play catch up now and share what we have been doing in the past four months.

Eeny Minnie

I couldn't have ever asked for a better animal! I've owned cats before, that stunk horribly, that were ill, that were recluses, that ran from children, or simply didn't do much of anything. 

Eeny Minnie is one of a kind. She has never been declawed, and has never took her claws out on our children despite how rough they get with her from time to time. Paula's pretty good most of the time, petting her softly etc. Recently she tries to carry Eeny Minnie around by her neck. Eeny Minnie doesn't even hiss, she'll let paula drag her a few feet before wiggling free, or I catch it and say Paula let her go. 

Eeny Minnie usually sleeps next to Scotty, he loves waking up to find his cat beside him curled into his side. He loves to get yarn and make Eeny Minnie chase him around our house. 

I think our cat will be a childhood pet our two little ones will never forget, and will always have a special place in their hearts for her.

Eeny Minnie's Relationship with our kids

I have to say we really lucked out we adopted a cat like no other. She is the sweetest cat to Scotty and Paula, she loves to roll over at their feet waiting for them to give her some loves. She sleeps next to Scotty the most, and would sleep next to Paula if I let her. (Paula's still in a crib, and too young)

Our cat will follow me to the mail box, and back home. She'll walk beside me as I go to get Scotty from his friend Max's house. She will hang out in our front yard with the kids during the day.

On another note she is a vicious predator to the small animals in the protected wet lands behind our house. She brings us decapitated mice, and birds of all sizes from the field. I'll spare everyone any more details.

The Terrible Bird Killer

We have a bird feeder outside our upstairs kitchen window that my dad gave Scotty for his birthday. The birds haven't been fed in about two weeks. So, I finally carried the 50lb box of birdseed upstairs from the garage. As soon as I opened it, at least 3 terrifying spiders popped out to say hello and hundreds of slimy larva things oozed everywhere inside. Instead of dipping my hand in the box to scoop out seed and funnel it into the feeder, I did something I thought was more logical. I dropped the entire box face down, through the window, and onto the grass in the back yard. This way I was safe from the bugs that wanted to kill me, and the hundreds of birds in the parkway would be able to eat in our backyard again. What I didn't consider at that moment was this would make it much easier for our cat to catch birds. Instead of jumping and smacking her stupid face into the window, several times like she has each day for weeks, she has been able to catch birds effortlessly from ground level. Who knows how many birds have lost their lives in the last 24 hours. Spiders are terrible things!
